Vintage Sheet Quilt for My Student Teacher
I finally finished my first vintage sheet quilt. I'm going to give to my student teacher. She's been awesome. I think it was an eye opening experience. Public school high schoolers are , shall we say, interesting. She's seen the good and the bad. I hope she still wants to be a teacher- at least she got a good picture of he highs and lows of dealing with teenagers, parents, administrators. She's almost done and just observing other teachers now. I hope she likes the quilt and will keep it for years and look back fondly one her student teaching experience. 17 years ago I got a blank of Virginia Tech from my cooperating teacher and I still have it on my couch.

Wow! What a great sheet :-) It definitely makes me want to take a look through my parents' overflowing linen closet for potential quilting material.
ReplyDeleteI have a large collection of vintage sheets (Thanks Savers). It's actually easier to quilt with them. I can get corners to meet up alot neater and the material is usually more forgiving than regular quilting cotton. And it was soooooo soft after I washed it.
